Crop Specialist | Reading£NegotiableWe are working with one of the UK's leading berry growers, who are now looking for a Crop Specialist to join one of their farms.About our ClientEstablished for over 50 years, our client is one of the UK's leading producers of berries. They have several farms across the south of England and run a very successful operation. This role will be based at their 200-acre site just outside of Reading.About the RoleThis role is solely focussed on growing top-quality soft fruit. Focusing on strawberries and raspberries, you will be crop walking and monitoring pest and diseases, irrigation, and general crop husbandry. You will be liaising with the relevant line managers to ensure that the right growing procedures are done, and all crops are growing according to plan. Reporting to the farm manager, you will be communicating regularly about what is going well and any potential areas of concern, and then addressing these promptly. Crop forecasting and planning will also fall into your remit.The Ideal CandidateWe are looking for someone with experience in working in a large-scale growing environment. This is a very busy farm, and you must be confident in working with large teams.
