Vacancy Reference: 20828We are currently recruiting for a Waste Resource Management Operative for the Antrim area. This will be a full-time temporary role, Monday to Friday consisting of 37 hours per week, with an hourly rate of £9.62. This role will last for a period of 8 weeks. Duties & Responsibilities: Carry out WRM Collection duties, to collect all approved domestic and commercial refuse and recyclable containers presented, ensuring all containers are returned to a safe positionAssist the driver whilst reversing where appropriate to do soDaily reporting to the vehicle driver any actual or potential mechanical or electrical faults, or damage to the vehicleWhen carrying out Street Cleansing duties, cleanse footpaths and adjacent gutters, collection of litter on public highways and other specified areas within the Borough to the quality standards set out by the organisation by means of manual sweeping, shovelling, litter picking, pedestrian operated suction sweepers and other appropriate methodsEmptying of litter bins and waste receptacles, weeding of footpaths and gutters, cleaning of street furniture, removal of fly-tipped and fly-posted materials, removal of animal carcasses and any other cleansing or emergency worksIn the event of inclement weather preventing normal work undertake such alternative tasks commensurate with the level of the post as may be allocated by management, including gritting and snow clearanceDemonstrate a team approach to achieving the objectives of the Section through full flexibility in relation to tasks undertakenProvide a high level of internal and external customer service including taking ownership of customer queries and complaints and following issues through to completion Essential criteria: Basic literacy (ability to read instructions/communications)Minimum of 6 months previous relevant work experience in a waste environmentFlexible approachGood organisational and time management skillsAbility to work with minimal supervisionComputer literate (to use TMS for holidays/GPS)Working knowledge of health and safety procedures including manual handling and assisting driver whilst reversingKnowledge of waste collection/disposal and recycling issuesTraffic management Desirable Criteria: Valid driving licenceSafety at Works legislationMinimum of 12 months previous relevant work experience in a waste environmentTraffic Management Additional information: This role provides an exciting opportunity to join an industry leading business, committed to ensuring that their customers receive a first class level of service and offering genuine opportunities for career progression.For more information on this role or any other vacancy please call us on 028 90330 555For this role, Kennedy Recruitment is acting in the capacity of an employment business.Kennedy Recruitment is an equal opportunities employer and adheres to all current employment legislation.Please note only those candidates shortlisted may be contacted.
