The council has declared a Climate and Ecological emergency and your work will play an important role in supporting projects that help address this, working with our in house teams operating refuse & recycling collections, street cleansing, three household waste recycling centres for our residents, plus a growing Commercial waste business. You will be developing, managing and maintaining the Waste & Recycling Service’s statistical data and financial management systems, along with managing contractors and partners to monitor contract performance and ensure data and financial claims are accurate. The right person will have an excellent understanding of Microsoft Excel, the ability to interpret statistical information to present to others and make recommendations for data driven service improvements. You will be organised, efficient and able to work accurately to tight deadlines and high standards, you will be a good team player, whilst being equally adept at acting on own initiative. A degree or equivalent and significant experience in a relevant area along with experience of financial or budgetary information is essential. Your main place of work will be the award-winning, modern Civic Centre in Keynsham, halfway between Bath and Bristol, easily accessible via car or public transport, with a train station 5 minutes’ walk away.
