Support workerRoker, Sunderland£10.50phDays/Nights12 hour shifts40+ hours availableFull time or part timeWe are looking for female staff to support a young 17 year old male with a longstanding history of mental health difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder, psychotic depression, emerging emotionally unstable personality disorder, gender identity disorder/ dysphoria and generalised anxiety disorder. Staff must be have experience in working with young people and mental health and must be confident in delivering supportThe young male has had historical incidents with self harm during periods of anxiety and emotional dysregulation. Young male will need specialised support from staff who will be supporting him 24/7.The young male needs to have a consistent staff base whom the young male can work with regards to establishing his structure and routine, but also a team who are aware of the challenges that he can present with and who are able to provide that consistent approach to his care and the interventions used. It is hoped that the team allocated to he would have a good knowledge and understanding of how to implement positive behaviour support plans. Support with medication is required. We want staff to build a good rapport with the male and be able to identify periods of heightened emotions and distress and be confident in intervening when necessary. * will need to provide consistency, structure and support to young people who have a diagnosis of Autism spectrum disorder and an understanding of gender dysphoria. * to be supported in managing his relationship with his parents and be supported in maintaining contact with them, wherever appropriate or in line with his wishes. * to provide nurture and opportunities to gain independence as he moves toward adulthood. * require regular opportunities for age appropriate socialisation, recreation and leisure activities. * The young will require staff who can support him to develop acceptance and tolerance of others.
