Do you have the drive and determination to succeed in the role of Support Worker at our service in Jarrow, Tyneside? We are looking for resourceful and energetic individuals to work alongside the Senior Team in achieving our aims with the day-to-day management responsibilities of our complex supported living service in the Jarrow area of Tyneside.The Woodside Close service in South Tyneside operates over 3 units. The unit at Woodside Close contains 7 bungalows and is home to 6 service users-2 female and 4 male. Service Users receive support with personal care, medication, positive behaviour support, accessing the community and all other daily living tasks.You will provide person-centred care and support to tenants to take part in all aspects of everyday life and to enjoy a wide range of activities. You will have skills in positive communication and engagement and will be able to demonstrate unconditional positive regard for the people we support. You will have the maturity to be able to work within a positive behaviour support framework, to accept responsibility and to grow in confidence as a skilled practitioner. You must be able to follow agreed guidelines and to work positively within a consistent, mutually supportive team ethos.You will need to be flexible and able to deliver support in all aspects of daily living and personal care in a dignified manner. The service provides support to meet individualised needs and does require shift work, which includes contributing to a 24hr rota including sleepovers.We are looking to recruit people who enjoy a challenging and rewarding job and who wish to develop through the training packages that we offer.
