Student Support Assistant with British Sign LanguageBSL 2 or BSL 3 One-to-One STUDENT SUPPORT ASSISTANTSThis is an excellent opportunity to support a bright and enthusiastic young student, using BSL and acting as an interpreter within a small class, with a team of support assistants. You can make a real and positive impact by enabling students to learn, promoting their independence and helping them to achieve by having a “total communication” approach with the support of the speech and language team. You will have a flexible approach to meeting the individual needs of each child and have a genuine enthusiasm and commitment for working with hearing impaired children and young people.You will have BSL Level 2 (minimum requirement) and previous personal care experience. You will need to be a confident advocate, recognizing the potential of your student and championing their needs, along with excellent written and verbal communication and organization skills. Experience of complex physical and medical needs is desirable along with English & Math's GCSE (or equivalent) A*-C . Foundation residential and day Special School for students from age 4 to 19 with physical disabilities, complex medical needs and associated learning difficulties.
