This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate, to join the Kirklees Adult Inpatient Team in the Priestly Unit, Dewsbury and District Hospital, Halifax Rd, Dewsbury WF13 4HS, which is easily accessible via motorways and rail links. You will be supported by an experienced and friendly multi disciplinary team including 1.0 WTE Consultant Psychiatrist and up to 2.0 WTE junior doctors and be expected to work effectively with the Consultant Psychiatrist, multidisciplinary team and manager to provide a safe, effective and efficient service. Excellent communication with service users, carers, colleagues and other third party organisations as well as General Practitioners will be essential. You must possess full GMC registration and a minimum of 4 years full time or equivalent in postgraduate training in the UK, or equivalent EEA training. At least 2 years training must be in Psychiatry. You will also hold Section 12 approval or be eligible for such approval. A current driving licence is strongly desirable. You will be part of a 2nd on-call rota covering the North Kirklees locality, currently at a frequency of 1 in 7. Continuing professional development is a high priority for the Trust and you will be strongly encouraged to continue with further education in accordance with the recommendations of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. We are also committed to principles in the “A Charter for Staff and Associate Specialist and Specialty Doctors” and have an enthusiastic SAS Tutor who is driving forward support for SAS Doctors across the Trust. One outcome of this work is that we can provide you access and support to progress Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) and/or Approved Clinician status, ensuring your job plan is tailored to enable these development opportunities to be undertaken. You will be employed under the national Specialty Doctor terms and conditions with a salary within the specialty doctor salary scale. In addition the Trust grants an additional two days annual leave to SAS doctors with 7 years or more NHS experience at SAS level.
