The requirement for safety and security is really needed right now, so we’re looking to recruit SIA Security Officers to join our team in helping to protect and facilitate the COVID-19 Testing Centres during these difficult and uncertain times. Not only could play a part in securing these sites, but we’re also looking to expand our team in readiness for when the UK returns to normal and the events industry kicks off again! We have work across the sports and music industries, spanning the whole of the UK - so you will have the opportunity to be a part of the events you love. WORKING HOURS The shifts for the testing centres are typically 8 – 10 hours long sitting somewhere between the hours of 7am and 7pm. The rotation is 4 days on and 4 days off. For UK events the working hours will vary depending on each event. This can be discussed with a recruiter at interview stage. THE ROLE Meet and Greet – checking people have appointments and depending on the type of site handing out test kits. Customers have the option of having the test completed by healthcare professionals or to self-test. Directing Traffic – making sure that cars are directed to specific car parking ports where tests can be administered or to a self-test station and explaining what to do with a completed test. Access Control – checking that customers have appointments or checking the credentials of workers or subcontractors coming into the site. Help answer questions – Being empathetic towards customers and helping to answer any questions that they may have. Social Distancing – making sure that customers are following protocols and on walk-in stations are socially distancing themselves, particularly if a queue is forming. Reporting any security breaches to supervisors or managers and help deal with any emergency situations including evacuations in accordance with site procedures. If you have security experience and hold your SIA licence then you can do this! Our recruitment and selection process is currently being conducted remotely, this will include a video interview and screening to BS7858 standards. Given the nature of the industry, we do need to ask some questions for security and compliance purposes, but don’t worry - you will only need to complete them once. .
