Fortel are recruiting for a Senior Construction Engineer to join our client for the delivery of an Energy from Waste plant.You will be supporting the Project Director in all engineering matters and issues of co-ordination, overseeing Civils work, supporting the works of project sub-contractors in an engineering context and liaising with the supporting design team, consultants and statutory regulators. Reporting directly to the Project Director.Responsibilities:Managing site engineering teamProviding technical support across all Civil Engineering matters.Overseeing design maturity and value engineering, architecture, planning, permits, specification refinementSupervising construction engineering activities and maintenance of standards (Quality Assurance) on Energy from Waste power stations.Supporting commercial team with respect to cost and value as influenced by best engineering practiceGeotechnical understanding - ability to understand GI reports an advantageGeneral Civils - Drainage, Highways, Earthworks, StructuresOversee set up of site dimensional control and maintainUnderstand and assist with site safety systemsLiaise with workforce and contractors regarding setting out informationPreparation of as-builtsRequired:Strong knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulations.Temporary Works experience/qualifications desirable.Excellent interpersonal skillsExperience of Energy from Waste (EfW) projectsHNC or equivalentRelevant CSCS cardSMSTS desirable
