Roofing Estimator at NSS Maintenance Location – Manchester or SloughThe Business NSS Group is a specialist services supplier. From building maintenance to window and technical cleaning, platform hire and equipment testing – self-delivered services, anywhere in the UK. The NSS group was formed by the merger of a number of large successful businesses to create one super group which gives our clients a service which is truly nationwide.The Division At NSS Maintenance we specialise in reactive and planned roofing, cladding, coatings and glazing. We have three operational depots (Falkirk, Manchester and Slough) and run contract teams through each location. Each contract team has between 20-30 directly employed tradesman who cater for our core services. We own and operate a fleet of 25 truck mounted platforms which the engineers use to undertake working at height services. Our reactive nature make us appealing for all the major FM companies and retailers alike.Your job will include: Estimating small to medium work opportunities generated following reactive maintenance visits, received directly from clients or the sales team. Ensuring the quotations allocated are completed within the required SLAs Estimating values between £500 – £50,000 (there are many opportunities to quote larger works but majority of the demand lies within the quoted price bracket). Maintaining clear and concise workings in order for contract management to understand time frames, equipment involved and material quantities. Provide support to contract management teams in delivering their instructed works Engage with and build supplier relationships (existing and new) Provide technical roofing expertise to the contract teams, Sales teams and reactive helpdesk when required. Undertake site surveys when required to ensure accurate information is collated on high profile opportunities. Meeting and interacting with clients and building up reputable relationships Engaging with site surveyors and engineers to ensure they capture the correct information for your estimating opportunities. Maintaining a high level of dependable service Developing individuals including empowering people Working closely with your operations director to ensure continuous improvement Working together with other divisions to grow the customer baseYou are good at: Working with existing schedules of rates but understanding commercial opportunities and the importance of being competitive. Understanding industry requirements and cultures. Upskilling other individuals within the division who require support with technical advice Roofing, coatings, cladding and glazing estimating General mathematics and business acumen Dealing with the full range of shareholders within the business – engineers, surveyors, contract managers, account managers, sales managers, directors and clients. Suggesting new ideas and improving our estimating processes and procedures. Working autonomously without the requirement for micro management Working closely with the sales team to ensure their requests are actioned within the desired timeframes Being realistic in terms of opportunities available (some enquires are not suitable for us and should be declined as and when) Managing multiple quotations and enquires / opportunities across the UK. Tendering framework agreements received from the sales team Understanding H&S legislation and ensuring these are accommodated for within your priced opportunities. Liaising with clients to ensure best in class service is maintained. Utilising your knowledge of the industry to grow the customer base. Working hours as required to ensure the role is carried out effectively.
