Roadworker /Highway Maintenance Operative

BEAR Scotland is a leading provider of highways maintenance services across Scotland. We manage and maintain over 2,500km of Scotland’s trunk road network, tackling just about every imaginable task and working round the clock to help keep Scotland moving. We are delighted to be opening new maintenance depots in Queensferry, Linlithgow, Bonnyrigg, St. Boswells and Chryston as we expand our network to include trunk roads across the South East of Scotland from August. We are looking for Roadworkers across all levels of experience to join our team and help us continue to deliver the high standard of service and road maintenance we offer for our clients. Purpose of the role and your responsibilities; Work safely and promote a safe environment for all operations Ensure all operations are carried out to the highest standard Produce accurate records of all projects carried out Operating small plant and equipment used in highway maintenance Being part of our first-rate winter service operations Formal qualifications preferred; HGV C + E is preferable Traffic Management 12 A, B or D CSCS NPORS NRSWA Skills required; Good numeracy and literacy skills A courteous approach to colleagues and members of the public Willingness to work in a physically demanding role in all weathers and unsociable hours Experience required; Previous experience of highways maintenance would be an advantage Knowledge; Good knowledge of health & safety procedures Good knowledge of highways maintenance industry Personal qualities; Be able to work as part of a team. Have good communication skills, able to communicate well with all stakeholders. Please note we have permanent and temporary positions available.
