Our growth across the UK is also evidenced from winning national awards for our best projects – 2020 Business Green Awards, Green Building Project of the Year for The Wave and 2019 British Construction Industry Award for the UK Hydrographic Office HQ.At Hydrock, you’ll enjoy working in a great team of over 500 people with a genuine opportunity to develop and to be recognised and rewarded, and to be inspired by what we do – here’s a taster of the ‘good bits’ of 2020.So, what will you be responsible for?We want you to help us develop our renewable energy and battery storage consultancy and project development.A passion for sustainable design, innovative and low energy solutions is paramount, in addition to understanding the ever-evolving national and local legislative drivers.Your key responsibilities will be to support in areas that include:Energy / storage options appraisalsRenewable energy / storage design, modelling and implementationBattery storage developmentWind and solar developmentEV charging strategy and developmentCapacity and resilience assessmentsProject managementLife cycle cost modellingFinancial modelling and revenue forecastingPlanning supportTechnical, economic and environmental risk managementSupporting the wider division on utilities/energy infrastructure, masterplanning and carbon managementTo succeed in this role, you'll need:Strong post-graduate experience in the engineering/energy industry, or perhaps an alternative design or energy modelling background with skills that could be applied to renewables sectorA relevant engineering or science degree, BEng (Hons) or BSc (Hons) or equivalent/higherA passion for net zero, innovative and low carbon solutions is paramountExperience in the renewables sectorAbility to work closely and collaboratively with other disciplines, including structural engineering, building services, acoustics, fire, utilities, transportation and geo-environmentalA collaborative, enthusiastic and forward-thinking approachExcellent communication and presentation skillsAbility to undertake independent learningExcellent analytical skillsTime management and organisational skillsWe’re also keen to know if you can offer any of these attributes:Working knowledge of energy sector and regulatory frameworkWorking knowledge of renewable energy / modelling techniquesKnowledge of or technical ability in energy/renewables related disciplinesPractical experience of delivering renewables/battery storage projectsExperience of working for wind, solar or storage developersAn ability to apply analytical skills across a range of scale, i.e. buildings, campuses, citiesExperience in presenting analytical information in a clear and concise mannerKnowledge of energy performance, environmental, legal and financial requirementsWorking knowledge of life cycle cost modelling and revenue forecastingExperience and working knowledge of the energy market, capacity and grid balancing, demand side response, connection agreements, market business models etc.A place to thriveA career with Hydrock offers you the chance to achieve your potential in a strongly people-focused and values-led business that provides great opportunities for professional and personal development.The remuneration package will include a competitive salary and employer pension contribution, 25 days annual leave (with the option to buy/sell up to five days), healthy living bonus, well-being bonus and a wide variety of flexible benefits.
