Your new company The services of Hays have been retained by our client based in Belfast to recruit an Assistant Accountant on a fixed term contract basis for an initial period of 9 months with the possibility for further extension. Working within the existing team you will be responsible for a range of duties to include:Record journal entries in SAP for the assigned offices in-line with the established Service Level Agreements (SLAs)Perform account reconciliations, including, bank reconciliations, balance sheet accounts, etc., and resolve the reconciling items in a timely mannerPerform period-end activities in accordance with the financial close schedules and the established guidelinesRespond to local offices queries and post accounting adjustments as requiredProvide support for internal and external financial audits What you'll need to succeed Ideal candidates will be degree qualified with a minimum of 1 years experience in a finance role with experience of using an accounting package (SAP desirable but not essential). Candidates should possess solid understanding general accounting principles and possess excellent time management and organisational skills along with a drive and ambition to learn and to be part of a team. The annual salary for the position ranges between £22,000-£25,000 depending on experience.
