Title: Civil Engineering/Groundworks Project Manager (Permanent)Location: South WalesSite Hours: 7.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday Salary: £45000 - £50000 per annum plus competitive packageSummaryThorn Baker is currently working with a South Wales and West based, specialist civil engineering and construction company, to recruit a Civils/Groundworks Project Manager who will join the team on a permanent basis.Thorn Baker's client has been long established and is currently experiencing a period of significant growth with an order book packed until 2023. They require someone to manage a number small schemes ranging from £75000-£1m in value. This is an opportunity for a Site Agent/Manager, who has groundworks and/or civil engineering experience, to step into a Project Manager position; or an already established Project Manager to move to a thriving company with a varied and interesting workloadPlease note, Thorn Baker's client will consider someone who has worked their way up from the tools and holds no degree OR someone who has come up via the technical route holding relevant civil engineering qualifications and engineering experienceAs Project Manager you will:Manage each individual project, consisting of Managers, Supervisors, Engineers and Operatives, from conception through to completionUndertake regular formal inspections of sites and ensure checks on machines are being carried outLiaise with Setting out Engineers, other Managers and Site Supervisors to ensure smooth delivery of each individual schemeEnsure Health and Safety processes and procedures are adhered to on site and all relevant health and safety paperwork/RAMS are filled in accordingly by the correct representativeEnsure all QA documents are filled out and filed accordinglyThorn Baker's Client is looking for someone who:Has a demonstrable background working in a groundworks/civil engineering environment with either a main or sub contractor Be happy working in a fast paced environment with a varied workloadHave strong communication skills Understand the principals of setting out and be able to assist if necessary Has relevant qualifications (CSCS, SMSTS)Benefits include:A negotiable salary of up to £55K A package consisting of company vehicle, pension, l30 days holiday + Christmas shutdown as an addition, company laptop and mobile phoneThe opportunity to join an established and busy, specialist civil engineering company in the local areaFor further information relating to this role, please contact Ben Knight of Thorn Baker on (phone number removed) or apply directly to the advert or via email  Key skills: Project Management, CSCS, SMSTS, Groundworks, Civil Engineering, Drainage, Surfacing
