933914Procurement / Category SpecialistLocation - Faslane Naval Base, HelensburghDuration - 10 months+Rate - Ltd Co �32.50 per hour / PAYE �25.00 + �3.02 per hour holiday pay The successful candidate must hold valid SC level security clearance.Job Description Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain the Category Specialist will have responsibility for Value Plan strategy execution across Projects.Objectives for this role will include: * Establishing Business Unit requirements, including those driven by the future bid pipeline * Delivering tangible, bottom-line benefits to the Division * Supporting the delivery of Business Unit strategies through the rigorous management of contract and supplier performance Responsibilities * Category Management o Manages category strategies that maximise value for the business based on understanding of business needs and supply market potential o Execution of the category strategy, including negotiating and contracting with suppliers, evaluating on-going contract and supplier performance and measuring contract compliance * Sourcing o Captures specific business requirements and builds into ITT or RFI documents o Executes sourcing activity using strategic sourcing methodologies in order to put fit-for-purpose supply contracts in place o Accountable for the implementation of pan-divisional contracts so that they can be used in practice by the business units o Where appropriate, supports major bid activity where there is a significant category requirement * Supply Management o Segmenting and managing suppliers within the category o Executing the appropriate strategies to incentivise and engage suppliers and to measure and incentivise their performance o Managing appropriate supplier governance, fed by relevant data and attended by empowered representatives of both organisations Key Success Criteria * Value delivery in line with agreed targets for the category * Supplier performance that meets operational requirements of the Business Units * Ensuring a strong health, safety and environmental ethos is applied throughout the supply chain; * Excellent cross functional stakeholder relationships Education & Professional Qualifications * Qualified to degree level or equivalent * MCIPS or equivalent professional qualifications Experience & Background * Experienced procurement practitioner with knowledge of current strategic procurement techniques and (c.5 Years in Sourcing & Procurement) * Knowledge of relevant categories * Experience working in project environments at both biding and delivery phases of lifecycle * Proven track record of identifying and delivering procurement savings Business Skills & Knowledge * High quality communication ability, both written and orally * Highly commercial, with a proven ability to use procurement to unlock value for the business * Delivery focussed with a pragmatic, hands-on approach that enables strategies to be fully executed * Ability to operate successfully in dual reporting or matrix organisations Our role in supporting diversity and inclusionAs an international workforce business, we are committed to sourcing personnel that reflects the diversity and values of our client base but also that of Orion Group.We welcome the wide range of experiences and viewpoints that potential workers bring to our business and our clients, including those based on nationality, gender, culture, educational and professional backgrounds, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, disability, and age differences, job classification and religion.In our inclusive workplace, regardless of your employment status as staff or contract, everyone is assured the right of equitable, fair and respectful treatment.
