We are looking for an experienced Policy and Regulatory Affairs Manager to help us advocate for supportive policies and legislative environments to create this future.Working as part of the UK&I; Communications and Public Affairs team you'll co-ordinate our policy work across the UK and Ireland. You'll have a good understanding of energy markets, in particular renewable electricity, enabling you to identify relevant policy/regulatory risks and opportunities for RES.The role will see you work closely with internal subject matter experts to develop RES' positions across key policy areas and ensure consistency in external delivery. You'll have experience of dealing with a range of external stakeholders, engaging with key organisations and individuals to influence both policy development and consultations.Key Accountabilities Working with internal subject matter experts to formulate RES' positions on key policy and regulatory matters. Ensuring alignment and sharing of key positions internally.Supporting the development of RES' strategic direction on policy and regulatory matters. Delivering a proactive programme of activities, alongside reactive support for issues as they arise.Tracking key policy developments across planning, grid and markets – translating these into meaningful information, highlighting risks and opportunities to RES' business activities.Co-ordinating and drafting consultation responses and submissions, working with internal subject matter experts and external parties, where required.Tracking the impact of RES' activities and influence with key decision makers.Providing briefings on policy and regulatory matters to support engagement with senior officials and elected representatives.Liaison and participation in trade association and industry activities; actively articulating and advocating RES' priorities in line with business objectives.Developing and maintaining industry and regulatory relationships to support RES' engagement across a range of different stakeholders.Supporting the engagement with external political stakeholders at Westminster, Holyrood, Stormont, Cardiff and Dublin on key policy areas. Knowledge Good understanding of the renewable energy industry – including markets, planning and grid in the UK, and ideally Ireland.Detailed knowledge of relevant energy and climate change policies at UK, and ideally Ireland level.Parliamentary procedure and policy development. Skills Excellent stakeholder management, with the ability to engage people at all levels and comfortable presenting to a wide range of audiences.Persuasive influencing and negotiation skills.Excellent written & verbal communication. Experience: Working in a regulated sector, preferably energy.Demonstrable track record of working with a range of external stakeholders.Engaging with and influencing policy development and consultations.Ability to support colleagues through anticipating requirements and making provisions for them. Qualifications Ideally educated to a degree level in a relevant discipline.
