About the jobWe have an opportunity to join our small team of pest control technicians on a 12-month contract. Working across Leicester City you'll respond to complaints and requests for pest control services, mainly in relation to bed bugs.Having experience in solving pest problems, this role is ideal should you enjoy a varying work environment, solving problems, and learning all aspects of the pest control industry, specifically in addressing bed bug concerns. If you have a positive attitude and are willing to work in a fast-changing work environment this is a great chance to join our team.Your roleDay to day you'll carry out routine investigations relating to pest control and public health problems. You'll specify work to resolve problems and initiate appropriate action in relation to these issues. You'll undertake the management of follow-up action on you own cases and those initiated by other staff within the Environmental Health area.You'll ensure you keep comprehensive and accurate records both manually and computerised. Being able to use smart devices such as computer and smart phone is vital to this role. You'll assist in the allocation of work and distribution of emails and any other computer work related to the Pest Control. You'll provide training, advice and information to staff and members of the public on pest issues. In addition, you'll participate in pest control training and promotional programmes as well as attending training courses for the development of new and or refreshing existing skills.What you'll needSince you'll administer poisons and insecticides you'll need experience in and knowledge of relevant government legislation, health and safety, and COSSH with regard to your own health and safety and others including members of the public and non-target species.Ideally you'll hold a qualification in pest control however we are willing to provide training on the job. You must hold a full UK driving license.
