Our client, a well-regarded commercial law firm in Leeds is looking to recruit a non-contentious Construction lawyer of between 2 and 7 years’ PQE. The team possesses a high-quality client base and clients include contractors, commercial property developers, retail clients, engineering companies, building contractors and specialist sub-contractors, major lending banks and owner-managed businesses. The role will involve working closely with developers, contractors and large corporate and commercial clients advising on property development and construction, specialist civil engineering contracts, process plant engineering contracts, retail and shopping centre development, hotel and leisure facility procurement and renewable energy projects. You will develop a close day-to-day working relationship with the clients and becoming a key point of contact. This is also a great opportunity to develop a strong network of client contacts. Work will include drafting and negotiating high value contracts and negotiating development obligations on complex property development agreements. Whilst the priority for this role is meeting a busy non-contentious caseload, there is also scope to undertake some contentious work if of interest to the post holder. The successful candidate will form part of a highly respected specialist team, reporting into one of the Partners but you must be able to work with limited supervision and ideally able to supervise more junior members of the team.
