ROLE- Applications Engineer LOCATION- Near Hemel Hempstead TERM- Permanent SALARY- £26,000- £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience) My client manufactures fabricated components for different engineering sectors and they are looking to take on an Applications Engineer, on a permanent basis, near the Hemel Hempstead area. The Applications Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:Qualified in Mechanical Engineering – Degree / BTEC/ ONC/ HNC/ HND / ApprenticeshipBe proficient in creating CAD drawings (previous experience using SolidWorks or similar)Be happy to work directly with customers in relation to required quotationsBe able to use hands tools and have a good mechanical aptitudeHave the ability to work well alone as well as part of a teamHave excellent communication skill both verbal and writtenThe Applications Engineer role will involve:Working on project specifications – creating CAD drawings and preparing cost estimates working off customer requirementsWriting quotes and other technical detailsUsing SolidWorks to produce 3D models and 2D drawingsMaintaining project schedulesUsing basic hand tools in the workshop to build systemsLiaising directly with suppliers and customers over the phone, via video call and face to faceWorking closely with other members of the engineering teamIf you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible, along with your availability and your salary expectation
