VANRATH are delighted to be assisting their client based in the Belfast area, with the recruitment of a permanent Customs Support Administrator.Purpose of PositionThe primary purpose of this role is to co-ordinate and achieve full customs compliance. The person will do this by providing efficient and effective support to the Irish depots (Belfast & Dublin - but based in Belfast) by assistance in all aspects of office administration in line with customs administration complianceResponsibilitiesThis will include dealing with nominated Custom Agents, Head Office Compliance Team, Suppliers and Customers as well as supporting the people within the businessAssist supply chain teams in co-ordinating the pack of documentation required for customs is prepared correctly and in a timely fashionLiaise closely with the Clearing Customs Agents to ensure paperwork is ‘live’ and accurateProvide close attention to detail in checking import/export documentation and contractual clauses.Implement close controls around customs clearance procedures to ensure timely clearancesports/land bordersMaintain a detailed log of all shipments and costings which can be shared with commercial and operational teamsKeep track of any customs related invoices and ensure timely settlement Ensure all relevant paperwork is scanned and paper copies properly logged for auditing purposesPerson:Previous experience working in a stock/transport background with knowledge on customsStrong administrator who can multi-task under pressureOrganised, reliable, high attention to detail with strong commercial and negotiation skillsEnthusiastic, diligent and energetic with a flexible approach in a rapidly changing environmentPreferable:Can demonstrate an understanding of key principles for the role e.g. import/export procedures, tariff classification and duty structures, valuation, origin, export controls and specialist regimesSalary:£20,000 - £24,000 per annum
