HSE Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and ambitious HSE Manager to join our established and successful manufacturing client based in the North West. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a positive HSE culture through the pro-active engagement of all employees, providing professional and practical advice and support to the Senior Management Team on all aspects of HSE Management.You should possess strong business acumen with the ability to contribute at a senior level to the wider business landscape, supporting the organisation to discharge its statutory responsibility whilst creating a strong behavioural based safety culture.Key Responsibilities:Review, develop and implement all aspects of the safety and environmental policiesMonitor, evaluate and review existing, new, and upcoming Health and Safety and Environmental legislationUndertake investigations into any accidents which may occur within the businessIdentify and present business case proposals for projects and initiatives related to health and safety/complianceLiaise with the Engineering and Operations Team, to ensure consistency of approach to Health and Safety across the businessCreating Toolbox talks and coaching the supervisory team to deliver themProviding at ‘Point of Work’ method statementsUndertake all forms of risk assessments as and when required within the businessConducting internal audits and assisting with any external audits as and when requiredDesign and deliver training sessions on key areas of H&S activities in relation to Health, Safety and EnvironmentalDevelop and deliver health and safety training to any areas identified within the businessKeeping all necessary records, which demonstrate that the business is fully complimentPrepare and present reports as and when required including monthly H&S compliance reports and RIDDOR data Experience:NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent is essentialProven track record and experience of working within a fast-changing, high volume, fast paced process-based manufacturing environmentThe ability to quickly grasp and understand business specific H&S risks, providing recommendations and solutionsStrong audit skillsSafety related experience in managing projectsQuality assurance experience, both creating and maintaining accreditationsStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, persuade and communicate with people across all levels of the business
