Position Title: Principal Engineer for HVAC & Pipework design (36889)Division: Manufacturing EngineeringLocation: SolihullPosition Description:The role is the Principal Engineer responsible for HVAC & Pipework design, equipment selection and specification, installation management & supervision and commissioning, covering all aspects of building services, heating ventilation and air-conditioning as well as pipework distribution systems. Responsible for the development of the of building services, heating ventilation and air-conditioning as well as pipework distribution systems strategy and specification and its dissemination across all technologies within manufacturing, via the technology forums. The strategy will be developed to include, but not limited to: - System Design Project & Site Management Mechanical Manufacture & Installation Mechanical Commissioning Spares Strategy Maintenance Strategy Innovation PeopleSkills Required:Substantial demonstrable experience in mechanical services provision in industrial settings to include ventilation, extraction, cooling water, bulk gas and fluid delivery and compressed air. The role is primarily one of design ¿ this is essential. Understanding and appreciation of installing LV, small power and lighting systems Experience of managing multi-skilled teams in multi-shift operations in both a Manufacturing/Maintenance as well as contractors/contract labour in a construction environment. Business acumen and drive.Skills Preferred:Skill in delivering your designs into an industrial setting through project management and site management are desired.Experience Required:Comprehensive knowledge of the latest mechanical and building services regulatory and statutory regulations. Substantial experience in designing mechanical services provision in industrial settings to include ventilation, extraction, cooling water, bulk gas and fluid delivery and compressed air. Substantial experience in the hands on management and supervision of complex high value installation work associated with the above. Substantial experience in the installing and delivering mechanical services provision in industrial settings to include ventilation, extraction, cooling water, bulk gas and fluid delivery and compressed air. Experience in statutory inspection and sign off of installations such that they meet current regulation. Experience of acting as the Principal Contractor and a full understanding of the responsibilities under this roleExperience Preferred:NEBOSH and machinery regulations.Education Required:Mechanical Engineer or equivalent.
