You will be a key individual within a team for overseeing all day to day activities such as provision of risk assessments, method statements, safety auditing, incident investigation, training and inductions.The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience and a proven track record of pro-active Safety & Quality Management. Ideally with combined experience in construction, roofing, scaffolding and asbestos removals, the candidate will be dynamic, and able to work in demanding environments. Key Responsibilities:- Promote and co-ordinate health and safety matters within the company and create a good Health & Safety no blame culture - Support contracts managers and supervisors in the management of staff and subcontractors in relation to all health, safety and environmental matters.- Enforcement of Health & Safety standards - Ensure staff on site have the correct training, instruction and are competent to do the allocated work - Preparation of project multi-site specific RAMS - Monitor Health & Safety performance and ensure that accidents and dangerous occurrences are properly investigated, and action taken to prevent recurrence - Review of sub-contractor questionnaires to check sub-contractors ability to carry out their work and comply with their Health & Safety obligations - Production and issue of all company policies - Production and issue of standard risk & COSHH assessments, safe working procedures and tool box talks - Maintain accreditations to external bodies such as Competent Roofer, Constructionline, Chas, Scaffolding Association etc. - Carry out internal audits, training and monitor the frequency and standard of Tool Box Talks on site Essential Skills & Requirements:The successful Health and Safety Advisor should be established within the sector and be proficient in the following: - NEBOSH Qualification General is essential (NEBOSH Construction preferred)- SMSTS or IOSH and CSCS card- Experience giving Toolbox Talks - Site auditing- Good understanding and working experience of CDM- RAMS Experience - Health and Safety experience within scaffolding (Experience working with ancillary scaffolding licence – UKATA Asbestos Manager/Supervisor preferred)- Excellent communication skills - Experience operating in a fast paced, multi-site environment and be able to prioritise effectively - A resilient and proactive approach- Proficient in using Microsoft Products including Excel and Word
