Graduate Renewable Energy ConsultantAlnwick, Northumberland£20,000 - £22,000Are you looking to join a business which is growing and is full of opportunity?Are you passionate about renewable energy and addressing low carbon challenges for the planet?Are you keen to continue to learn while working on multi-million-pound sustainability projects?Due to an exciting time of business growth and multiple tender wins; we have an excellent new opportunity for a proactive graduate to work collaboratively across our National projects which contribute to the UK’s low carbon ambitions.Responsibilities will include – * Working with other internal team members and external stakeholders to deliver diverse consultancy commissions in the field of renewable energy, biomass, forestry and district heating * Participating, coordinating and updating full project teams on activity status, works in progress, next steps, and required support * Working collaboratively and in partnerships with universities, forestry experts/consultancies, and legal professionals for sound project delivery * Helping manage existing and new Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) applications to Ofgem * Undertaking aspects of our technical due diligence and business planning, such as heat load calculations, energy use estimations and project costings and business planning * Keeping abreast of legislative, safety and general industry developments (e.g. RHI, Medium Combustion Plant Directive, etc…), and ensuring re:heat complies with and capitalises on these * Undertaking further training as and when required * Additional or alternative duties as may be allocated from time to timeThe successful candidate will have– * A BSc or MSc in one of the following subjects or related disciplines: Renewable Energy, Forestry, Energy Engineering and Sustainability, Sustainable Buildings, Geography, Environmental Science, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Environmental Management or Economics * A knowledge of biomass energy and its application, and an obvious passion for addressing the low carbon challenges facing society * An honest and open approach and have the integrity and drive to provide excellent customer service * The ability to initiate, establish, navigate, and nurture relationships with a wide variety of clients and stakeholders * Strong communication skills, both written and verbally, with the ability to present analyses and ideas in a concise, effective manner to the intended audience * Be proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.A full driving license is desirable.Our benefits –25 days holiday excluding Bank HolidaysCompany pension schemePrivate Healthcare Insurance schemeFree eye testsBike to work schemeFlexible working£500 voucher for professional developmentRequirement –Hours: 40 hours per week, with an occasional requirement to work weekendsTravel: A requirement to travel in the UK and potentially overseas.Interested?
