Engineering Manager

Our ClientOur client are an International Pharmaceuticals business with multiple sites across the world. Due to expansion they're looking to bring in an Engineering Manager to cover the day-to-day operations during the project. In a sector which is on the tip of everyone's tongues this organisation differentiate themselves through their culture, sustainability and ability to look at the bigger picture. Despite having multiple offices this role will be based in the central belt and is commutable from either Glasgow or Edinburgh. This is an opportunity for the successful candidate to join a fast moving business who are embarking on a really exciting transition. The RoleThe Engineering Manager is responsible for the engineering support and maintenance activities on site. They will lead the Engineering Technical department and the team of Engineering Technicians. This team has responsibility for all electrical, mechanical, C&I activities, as well as engineering maintenance and equipment replacement, to support the efficient and reliable operation of the site to the highest level of GMP and EHS regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities Include:Ensure equipment and plant reliability through development and execution of maintenance plans and root cause investigation of failures.Provide a rapid engineering response to equipment and facility issues, ensuring any downtime and delays are minimised.Provide direction and leadership to the Engineering team, co-ordinating work and activities.Manage the site systems to ensure compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements for quality, environment, health and safety.Provide professional and technical advice and support to the site in relation to the pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, equipment, services and facility.Prepare, manage and control the maintenance budget. Identify any capital expenditure required to ensure effective provision of services, maintenance and realising cost reduction opportunities.Support the siting of client projects, ensuring engineering actions are completed to plan.Support client and regulatory audits.Key Skills & Experience RequiredThe ideal candidate for this role should have strong engineering experience within the pharmaceutical sector. A track record managing a team of engineers in a fast paced environment is a must but to also have the gravitas and ability to deal with challenges, both internal and external, as and when they come.Mechanical/Electrical/Engineering experience and competenceExcellent leadership skills with proven track record of leading and developing high performing multi-disciplinary teamsKnowledge of Pharmaceutical/Biochemistry cGMP related process industry regulations and requirementsA strong knowledge of cleanroom and facilities management.An effective communicatorOur role in supporting diversity and inclusionAs an international workforce business, we are committed to sourcing personnel that reflects the diversity and values of our client base but also that of Orion Group.
