Credit Risk Assistant

Purpose of the role: The role will be reporting into the Credit Risk manager, supporting the development of focussed lending criteria through an awareness of changing market conditions and how these may open up opportunities.Read on to fully understand what this job requires in terms of skills and experience. If you’re a good match, make an application.Supporting business functions such as New Lending, Products and Sales using expertise and market knowledge.Key Accountabilities: Support the Head of Credit Risk Policy Assist in the production of risk committee deliverables Act as liaison between Credit Policy and New Lending and ensure lending manuals reflect minimum credit policy requirements Ownership and monitoring of referrals and escalations to the credit policy department from underwriting or other business areas, ensuring responses are within agreed SLAs Support growth by reviewing new lending propositions against criteria, appetite and applicable regulatory principles to make recommendations as to the viability Update all lending policies, as required to reflect company’s needs Ensure relevant compliance with all applicable FCA regulations, Data Protection, Money Laundering legislation and TCF Train and guide colleagues inline with requirements when required Be an active participant in meetings Support the development of colleagues through guidance and mentoring Essential Competencies: Experience of risk assessment within secured lending Full understanding of risk Current or recent mandate Full understanding of underwriting, risk assessment and ability to train and guide colleagues Good understanding of the mortgage market and product lifecycle Good written and verbal communication skills Self-starter, able to get involved in on-the-ground activities Strong problem-solving skills Please note: As you can appreciate we are currently overwhelmed with applications of individuals looking for both short term and permanent work and we can therefore only contact those applications that have relevant skills for positions that we currently have available.Should you not hear from us within a week, please assume you have been unsuccessful on this occasion.In line with GDPR regulations , we are making you aware that to proceed with your application we will need to contact you via email, telephone and/or text message.To receive future job alerts from us, you will be required to provide consent within our marketing preference options.The link will be provided in an email to you.Source4 are an equal opportunities employer and complies with all relevant UK legislation.If you are successful in your application, you will be required to attend a full registration with one of our Consultants which will involve you providing a current passport, any relevant visas, a proof of address and completing relevant tests and a full competency based interview.
