Construction / Materials Buyer Harrogate £30-50k We seek a dynamic buyer with previous experience in the construction industry to join a successful company in the Harrogate area. This role will consist of procuring all materials and services necessary to ensure the progress and on-time completion of range of construction projects whilst maintaining competitive prices. As the Construction / Materials Buyer you will be responsible for: Liaising with internal teams to plan for and order materials and services for all projects Producing and analysing procurement schedules Working from drawings to produce materials list and costings Working the commercial team on tenders for new projects Producing purchase orders and crosschecking relating invoices Developing the supplier database to ensure delivery and best value to the business and its customers Monitor and negotiate with current suppliers to ensure quality and value of goods and services delivered Undertake project procurement through the whole project life-cycle. As the Construction / Materials Buyer you will: Come from a construction background with a good knowledge of the building trade and inventory control. Have experience in tender procurement & bid writing Be able to demonstrate commercial knowledge and possess a thorough understanding of procurement processes Strong co-ordination, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
