Kooth is an online counselling and emotional well-being support service for children and young people available free at the point of use. An early intervention solution, Kooth helps to reduce waiting times for young people seeking help while removing the stigma associated with accessing mental health support. As well as delivering an online service, we are also commissioned by local CCG's to provide face-to-face counselling for children and young people.Since 2005 XenZone are working with local councils and already help over 50,000 young adults and children every month, there are huge opportunities ahead and we’d like to redefine society's approach to mental wellness.We are recruiting for Associate Counsellors in the Wakefield area. These are voluntary face-to-face positions, ideally suited to a student who has already completed two years of training and is looking to accrue additional clinical hours in order to meet their clinical obligations. However, we also welcome applications from graduates working towards accreditation.Hours of Work 5 clinical hours per week on a 12- month contract. In addition, you will also be expected to attend external clinical supervision (1.5 hours per month)Requirements To work as part of a team offering time limited counselling interventions to young people from the ages of 10-24 years. To provide appropriate individual support to young people taking into account their developmental needs. To continually assess the mental health needs of the young person and refer to other services in the young person’s local authority if necessary. To provide clinical hours in negotiation with the Area Manager for the local area. To be aware of and ensure compliance with legal requirements and School Procedures with particular reference to Safeguarding young people. To attend monthly clinical supervision and team meetings where appropriate. The main responsibilities are not an exhaustive list of duties, only a general guide to the post. In consultation with the post-holder, the duties may change from time to time to reflect the changing needs of the service.BenefitsManagement Supervision is provided by the and 1.5hrs of Clinical Supervision (up to a total cost of £67.50) is provided each month by a choice of external supervisors who all hold BACP/UKCP accreditation and a Post Graduate qualification in Supervision.Travel expenses are paid and Associates are encouraged to attend regular Kooth training events to further develop their clinical practice.Please note that this is a non salaried post.
