At our world class facility just a short drive from Edinburgh, due to our continued growth and success, we are looking to recruit an Assistant Pathology Technician within our Pathology Support Group.Duties and responsibilities include:To organise and book- in all specimens into the departmentTo maintain filing systems for all wet tissues, blocks, slides and paperworkTo correlate and organise the archiving of all study materialTo organise the preparation of pots, tissue trays, cassettes and labels for forthcoming studies.To assist in other laboratory dutiesCandidates are required to have the following:A minimum of 5 standard grades (or equivalent)Flexible approach to suit the needs of the businessAble to work flexible hours to suit the needs of the businessCommitment to quality and meeting deadlinesAbility to sustain bench work and manual physical working conditions for long periods of timePractical on the job training will be provided to the successful candidates.The salary banding for this position is £17,597.93.Successful candidates will be appointed to the bottom of the pay band if they have no relevant experience.In exceptional circumstances where the candidate has relevant equivalent experience, this will be taken into consideration. The closing date for applications is 19 February 2021.
