Animal By-Product Specialist Permanent Competitive Salary Basingstoke Exciting opportunity to work for a Global Leader in serving Science. The primary purpose of this role is to help develop and deploy strategies for managing the handling, storage transportation processing and disposal of Animal By-Products (ABP) and derived materials. The main interfaces for this role include Distribution and warehouse teams, Regulatory Affairs, Global Trade Compliance, Customer Service and National Authorities. Main duties and responsibilities: Serve as Subject Matter Expert on global Animal By-product legislation for the Division Ensure required compliance to regulations is maintained Managing the relationships with DEFRA and Official Veterinarians to maintain required Export Health Certificates and permits. Provide support onsite for all activities relating to ABP Certification / Licensing Animal Derived Component Certificate generation and maintenance Perform internal audits to check compliance and records Hosting audits and routine site visits from DEFRA Verify product compliance with global market requirements Drive continuous improvement efforts and participate in CAPA activities Create and maintain divisional SOPs and policies supporting each facility's quality management system Develop forward-looking intelligence that highlights significant changes to regulations that could impact ability to serve the market. Skills & Experience required: Degree in Life Sciences or equivalent Knowledge of DEFRA, Regulation (EC) 1069/2009;Regulation (EU) 142/2011;Animal By-Products (Enforcement) (England) Regulations 2013 (ABPEE 2013), The Trade in Animals and Related Products Regulations 2011 Good working knowledge and experience with HACCP Ability to study, interpret and apply regulatory legislation Experience in formal audit environments Thrives in strategic planning, collaboration and stakeholder management within a matrixed organization Knowledge of IVD Directive (98/79/EC) Knowledge of ISO13485 Proficiency in facility planning and information systems - SAP, MasterControl, Microsoft suite If you are interested in this role and feel that you have the right skills then please click apply.
