Waste and Resource Management ChargehandBallyclare £11.50 per hour 37 hours a week8 week post with possible extension MAIN PURPOSE OF JOBResponsibleto the Waste & Resource Management Supervisors for the day-to-daysupervision of the Council’s Household Recycling Centres. To ensure theservices are carried out in accordance with the Quality Standards set by theCouncil.Assist the Waste& Resource Management Supervisorsto manage human, physical, and financial resources to ensure maximumefficiency and effectiveness. Provideleadership, monitoring of performance, continuous service improvement andquality of service delivery in compliance with current legislation andregulations.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES Assist inthe delivery of the day-to-day operation of the Council’s Household RecyclingCentres including the deployment, supervision, and control of Waste &Resource Management operatives to ensure the delivery of a quality service andin line with the section Business plan.Assist inensuring that Household Recycling Centres are clean, customer focussed, openand closed at designated times, fully serviced by in-house and out-sourcedcontractors and remain legally compliant at all times.Assistin ensuring that staff are provided with the necessary plant, equipment andmaterials to carry out their work effectively and efficiently, working closelywith the Fleet Management to ensure all vehicles and plant are serviced andmaintainedEMPLOYEE SPECIFICATIONQUALIFICATIONS·A minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grades A-C) to includeEnglish and Maths or equivalent Consideration may be given to those candidates who donot hold the above academic qualifications but who can demonstrate a minimum of2 years’ experience as below.EXPERIENCEAminimum of 1 years’ relevant supervisory experience e.g. refuse collection,street cleansing, household recycling centreKEYSKILLS & ABILITIES·Strong organisational and time management skills·Ability to work with minimum supervision SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE·Working knowledge of Health & SafetyRegulations, including manual handling; Workingknowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows applicationsOTHER·A full currentdriving licence or, if a disability prevents driving, access to a suitable formof transport to enable the duties of the post to be carried out in full
