Transport & Logistics Manager (Construction)

Your new companyWe are working with a leading Construction company, located in Lisburn, to recruit an experienced Construction Transport and Logistics Manager.Your new role Contracts Procure and manage haulage and craneage for Offsite and Hire to ensure safe and efficient transportation and installation of buildings Procure cost effective and ‘fit for purpose’ haulage and craneage for Offsite and Hire project requirements Engage with Estimating/Preconstruction/Contracts Manager to understand the location of the project, the fundamental design features of the building, environmental plans and Health and Safety processes to ensure safe transportation of units to site and installation of units Undertake a site survey at PCSA stage of each Offsite and Hire project to ensure safe and efficient transportation of units to site and installation of units on site Responsible for ensuring that a swept path analysis is undertaken for each site/project Develop crane lift plans to ensure the safe and efficient installation of modules Take-off module sizes from drawings and develop a delivery plan for haulier to ensure that units are sequenced and delivered as per site requirements Communicate the agreed delivery programme to haulier and agree route plans Communicate with the craneage provider: to agree the delivery schedule of modules to meet programme, ensuring that track matting requirements etc are ordered and ensure that appropriate crane size requirements are procured Develop and prepare the installation programme collaborating with Manufacturing and Contracts team to ensure programme dates are achieved Develop and communicate construction traffic management plans Collaborate and work closely with the Installation Manager to ensure that units are installed safely, in sequence and to a high-quality standard. Attendance on site during installation process is required to oversee this process Provide all relevant information including H&S information to the Site Manager: outrigger information, etc Proactively manage the vehicle fleet: maintenance schedules, road tax, PSV, MOT, etc Manage fuel cards Responsible for ensuring that all relevant import and export documentation has been completed as required What you'll need to succeed • Demonstrate a proven track record working in transport and logistics managemento Experience of developing crane lifting planso Sound working knowledge of undertaking site surveys, swept path analysis and efficient route planning• Strong relationship building to develop an effective supplier network• Strong technical skills and knowledge with a high attention to detail• Excellent negotiation skills• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills• Organised, proactive and works effectively under pressure• Adaptable to change, approachable and conscientious and willing to accept ownership of tasks• Computer literacy skills (Microsoft Office suite)• NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Controlling lifting Operations and planning lifts (Construction)• Hold a relevant CSR/CSCS Card• OCR level 3 Certificate of Professional Competence in National Road Haulage Operations (desirable) What you'll get in return Competitive salaryParkingPension
