Trainee Lecturer in Biology

We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic Trainee Lecturer in Biology with the potential to deliver outstanding student achievement and a commitment to driving forward the provision of A-Level Biology within the Division to ensure student success.As an ambitious trainee lecturer, you will work closely with all the Curriculum Managers and the Programme leader/s responsible for the relevant course provision to maintain and develop the curriculum and maintain the excellent results within the Division. You will also liaise with other Cross-College areas to enhance the student experience. As a Trainee Lecturer A your contact teaching hours, relevant to subject specialism, will increase as you gain in skills and experience. Ideally you also possess a PGCE or Certificate in Education. However should you not have this, the College has an excellent Staff Development programme where a recognised teaching qualification can be gained. Qualified to degree level, you will possess knowledge of current issues in Biology relating to the curriculum area and of current AS/A Level Biology and/or GCSE Science specifications. The ability to demonstrate experience of teaching Biology at AS/A Level or GCSE Science would be advantageous but not essential. The salary for this post is £17,189 – £23,941.
