Security Officer - Holmes Chapel Security Officer - Holmes Chapel The location of this role is Holmes Chapel The pay rate on offer is £18.73/ h PAYE The role is working for a leading pharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing organisation. Shift Pattern: 12 hour shifts - combination of days and nights. Current rota is 2 day shifts, 2 night shifts, 4 days off (shift is 6am - 6pm and vice versa) JOB PURPOSETo provide a highly professional Security service to the Holmes Chapel site by ensuring that the companies employees, facilities, equipment, products and documents are protected at all times from damage, injury, security breaches and loss DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Site SecurityEnsure the security of all employees, property, equipment, products and documentation.Operation of Access Control, Intruder Detection and CCTV equipmentIn/ Out of hours operation of switchboard, all calls vetted and screenedGather and prepare evidence on request following any incidents on site for internal or external Police InvestigationsBooking in and issue of site passes to visitors, contractors and deliveriesRespond to bomb threatsManagement and control of protestors/ demonstratorsResponsibility for the review and approval of nominated Security Operating ProceduresHandling and screening of external post deliveries to site, incorporating use of X-Ray machineMonitor Critical Alarm Systems e.g. Stability Suites, Server Rooms etc. Site EmergenciesRespond to all Site emergenciesAct as out of hours Duty Manager/ Roll Call OfficerLiaise with Emergency servicesManage site communications during an emergency situationResponsibility for the review and approval of nominated Security Operating ProceduresMonitor Critical Alarm Systems e.g. Stability Suites, Server Rooms etc. Emergency AidProvide emergency First Aid assistance in the event of a medical emergencyFull Certification will be required in First Aid, Automated External Defibrillator and Oxygen Therapy skills. Risk ControlCarry out safety/ physical/ environmental inspections of designated site buildings, doors, access control card readers and Security KPI'sReport and respond to potential Health, Safety & Environmental risks and conduct follow up checks to ensure appropriate action has been taken.Conduct Risk Assessments and develop Security SOP'sMaintain and monitor the site lone worker alarmMaintain and test the site mobile gas monitors Fire SystemsProvide additional fire safety management support during any detection or fire prevention systems impairment.Out of hours control of Fire Panels. QUALIFICATIONSGCSE in Maths and English and/ or meet the required standard in company selected aptitude testsMust be able to work well in a team structure and have the ability to adapt and deal with changeMust have a flexible approach to work patterns to meet department needsClean driving licenceTrained First Aider (Training can be provided) EXPERIENCEProven customer service skills with the ability to deal with a broad range of customers and customer needsMust have worked for at least 2 years in Armed Forces, Security or PoliceWorking knowledge of HSE issuesWorking knowledge of security systems ( Access Control, CCTV etc)
