Project/Contract Manager (Civil Engineering)

Title: Civil Engineering Project/Contract Manager (freelance OR permanent)Location: Bridgwater (Hinkley Point C)Potential Duration: 12 months+ Site Hours: Generally 9-10 hour days (nights and weekends available at an uplifted rate of pay)Rate/Salary: Flexible to discussSummaryThorn Baker is pleased to be working with a regional civil engineering contractor to recruit a Project/Contract Manager in the Somerset area. The successful candidate will be working onsite at the prestigious Hinkley point C project and will benefit from a long term, stable contract which is programmed to last a number of years. The civil engineering company in question is working to deliver various services to HPC including: roadway and pedestrian lighting systems, civil engineering enabling works and electrical distribution systems among other things.This vacancy can be considered as a freelance or permanent postAs Project/Contract Manager the successful candidate will:Work closely with various stakeholders for the project including NNB (client), a number of tier 1 and 2 contractors also present on site, internal teams and the environment agencyProduce and check essential paperwork including RAMS, permits, progress reports as well as other health and safety related documentsManage a team of onsite construction personnel which will include Engineers, Managers and Ground workersBe involved in the planning process As Project/Contract Manager the successful candidate requires the following skills and experience:The ability to communicate with people from varying walks of life at varying levels; from upper management and client representatives to entry level construction personnelThe ability to demonstrate a recent history working on projects of a similar nature with similar responsibilitiesThe ability to work in conjunction with modern safety standards and regulationsRelevant construction certification (SMSTS, occupation specific CSCS, First Aid)As Project/Contract Manager you will benefit from the following:A highly competitive rate of pay (£320-£400 per day OR £65000-£75000 per annum plus package dependant on experience)The opportunity to work on one of the world’s largest, most fascinating and complex civil engineering projects of our generationFor further information relating to this role, please contact Ben Knight of Thorn Baker on (phone number removed), apply directly to the advert or via email  Key skills: Project Management, CSCS, SMSTS, civil engineering, utilities, MCOIB, NEC, contract management
