Job Duties:Teach young learners and help them achieve their qualifications through both theory and practical classes delivered in our centres. Participate actively in the monitoring & assessment of learners through building a portfolio of evidence including observations, questions and answers, gathering evidence, which you will mark against Awarding Body standards.Assess learners' skills & knowledge and provide one-to-one feedback to improve performance. Monitoring activities include performance reviews, visiting on-site and while in work placement. Complete paperwork including assessment plans & monitoring reviews to a high standard. Participate in sourcing suitable work placements for learners with the aim of securing full time employment. Be responsible for a cohort of Apprentices who are in employment. Carry out training & assessment, both on-site and in our workshops, assisting learners in achieving NVQs Level 2 & 3.Qualifications / Experience:Essential:5+ years experience in the Painting and Decorating industry. GSCE pass or equivalent in Maths and English or equivalent. Ability to communicate effectively with learners with a range of abilities and motivation. Have compassion and a want to help learners achieve and develop their skills. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Full clean driving licence. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work with external customers and stakeholders. Ability to work flexibly and effectively as a member of a team. Desirable:Minimum Level 3 qualification in Painting and Decorating. Achievement of A1 Assessors Award or willing to work towards one once in employment. Level 4 Certificate in Teaching or equivalent or willing to work towards one once in employment. Experience of successful teaching/training would be advantageous.
