Outdoor Participation Advisor

Deliver an exciting programme of outdoor activities to Hampshire's young people! Help children and young people participate in safe, high quality outdoor education. You will engage children through learning activities, to provide a positive impact on their achievement, health and wellbeing. You will work with disadvantaged groups and those in the care of the local authority, ensuring they have the chance to take full advantage of the fantastic outdoor opportunities available to them. You will be experienced within the outdoor education and learning sector, including working with a diverse range of children and young people. You will have a good understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable and / or SEND children and be able to demonstrate a commitment to inclusion and professional practice. The work base is currently Winchester, but you will be required to work flexibly, including frequent evenings and weekends. You will also have the opportunity to travel regularly across Hampshire and the wider region. Where appropriate you will support young people to access programmes such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, John Muir and other local offerings. Some of the work will be with targeted groups in venues such as Swanwick Lodge, Bluebird House and Leigh House Hospital.
