About the roleWeare looking for an experienced Operations Supervisor to join our supportive andfriendly Operations team based in Christchurch. In thisrole, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective operations of thecompany’s fleet and coordinate the transport services to meet our customers’requirements.Yourexceptional customer service skills will help you to build effectiverelationship with our internal and external stakeholders. You will be managingour drivers, and also will contribute actively to our safety management to makesure we are in compliance with company policies and procedures.Your key responsibilities willinclude:Supervision of the team and work activities of our driversScheduling and coordinating vehicle maintenanceDaily administration closing off of jobs and schedules/invoice data/Waste tracking system Developing work instructions and training our staff in these activitiesMonitoring and reviewing the work group’s productivity and safetyIdentifying the needs of the business and implementing operational improvementsCompleting key compliance requirements including logbook and driver activity auditsAdministration duties.To be successful in this role, youwill need to have:Relevant experience in a supervisory role preferably within the transport industryA valid NZ Class 4 license with DG endorsement advantageousKnowledge of HSWA legislation and Transport Regulations and or previous experience with HSEQ management systems (preferable)Asan ideal candidate, you will have excellent interpersonal and communicationskills with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively with thepublic and wide ranging customer base. Proven analytical and problem-solvingskills as well as an excellent focus on safety are crucial for the role.
