Mechanical Surveyor

A Local Authority based in Yorkshire is looking for a Mechanical Surveyor to join their Facilities management team. This is a full time, temporary position lasting for approximately 6 months and the ideal candidate will hold a H.N.C. in Building Services (Mechanical) and have experience in a similar role. The purpose of the role is to help in supplying the Council with a complete, efficient and compliant Facilities Management Service across the whole mechanical discipline. To hold responsibility for the design, drawing and drafting of specification for schemes from inception to completion. Including project management and all relevant contract documentation.To ensure that legislation, Council policy, statutory regulations and standing orders are adhered to and to ensure that the council is fully compliant in all relevant areas. The main responsibilities for the role are:Effective Mechanical surveying/inspection and design services for the Directorate and Council building stock.To arrange and oversee the carrying out of the Local Education Authority repairs/surveying design and modifications to all their Directorate's buildings.To advise Senior Management, School Heads and Governors in all areas of Mechanical Construction, modification and repairs. To ensure that legislation, Council policy, statutory regulations and standing orders are adhered to and to ensure that the council is compliant in all required areas. To ensure that all new and existing modifications to plant and equipment meet current regulations are compliant and are energy efficient in design and operation. To reduce the council carbon footprint by design and implementing short to medium term priorities and policies.Experience & Qualifications: Uses knowledge, safety and environmental policies , procedures and regulations, including risk in own area and/or other areas of work.Uses a range of specialist ICT systems across own work area and or across other areas of work.Demonstrate an in depth knowledge of the current Regulations and have the relevant experience and Qualifications.Have an in depth knowledge of BEMS Control systems and how they operate.Evidence of technical procedural guidance advice and support to a wide range of schools/colleges, Senior Management, Governors, and Officers, involved in building modification and/or repairs.Minimum desirable Qualification H.N.C. Building Services Mechanical.Enhanced DBSThe client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering between £20 - £22 p/hour Umbrella Ltd (approx. £510 - £555 p/week NET after deductions) dependant on experience and qualifications.
