Job DescriptionThe selected candidate MUST HAVE a SECRET security clearance. This position is CONTINGENT upon award of contract. The position is located in Rota, Spain. Relocation assistance will be provided. Currently seeking an Engineering Technician 4 – Mechanical Marine Gas Turbine Technician - to troubleshoot, repair, and test U.S. Navy ship structural, mechanical, electrical, or electronic equipment/systems. In this role, you will also be responsible for formal material condition assessments of the ship’s systems. Communication of these findings of any of the troubleshooting/assessments will be reported with official reports. All qualified candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of journeyman level experience within the last 5 years in the areas highlighted within the minimum qualifications. #LI-NM1Essential Job ResponsibilitiesProvides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.Minimum QualificationsAssociates Degree or another 2-year technical degree in related discipline and 6 years related experience or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years related experience. Must have secret security clearance Within the last 10 years must have both of the following: 4 years of full-time hands-on technical experience in the maintenance, installation, test, or repair of U.S. Navy shipboard gas turbine engines associated with propulsion and electricity generation 2 years of full-time technician experience leading maintenance, installation, test, or repair U.S. Navy shipboard gas turbine engines associated with propulsion and electricity generation. Must possess and submit proof of a current Marine Gas Turbine Inspector (MGTI) certification (Navy Enlisted Classification code 4136) obtained in accordance with Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV) instruction 9220.3. The MGTI certificate must be current as of the start date of the period of performance and remain valid throughout the performance period. Physical RequirementsJob performance requires adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the job. A waterfront office work environment is normally encountered.
