Lecturer - Construction Technical (Built Environment Technology, Civil Engineering & CAD)Care, Sport and Construction£34,170 - £42,3571.0 FTE / 35 hoursPermanentBase campus - FalkirkThe Department of Care, Sport and Construction wish to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Lecturer to the Construction Technical (Built Environment Technology, Civil Engineering & CAD) section of the department to work with learners across SCQF levels 6-8. We are preferably looking for someone with relevant professional/industrial experience in Architectural Design & Practice with CAD experience up to min of 2D although preferably to include 3D or willingness to complete CPD to attain this level and/or subjects associated and with lecturing experience in these areas. You should possess a minimum qualification of a Higher National Certificate/Diploma (or equivalent) in a Construction/ Architectural /Civil Engineering /CAD related discipline.You will be a confident, flexible, quality driven individual who has a sound technical, professional and operational experience in the main subject area as well as good planning and organisational skills. You will have a professional approach to dealing with external organisations as well as the ability to coach and build a rapport with students, motivating them to participate successfully in vocational education and training. You will produce high quality learning, teaching and assessment materials, and deliver excellent teaching within the specialist area. You will work with others to develop new approaches to teaching, making use of learning technologies.Ensuring that the curriculum is relevant and up-to-date, you will contribute to the development of elements of provision and enhance students’ learning through providing support. You will naturally have a strong learner focus.Ideally, you will have experience of developing innovative teaching practice along with good organisational skills and evidence of appropriate ICT skills. You will also possess good knowledge and understanding of health and safety requirements and a sound understanding of quality standards. Ideally, you will have a Personal Development Award in Teaching/TQFE qualification, or have a willingness to work towards achieving this award. A valid current driving licence is essential.
