Job Duties: AVX Ltd is a global leader in the manufacture and supply of electronic components.We currently have a one years placement opportunity within our Mechanical engineering team in our TTP area. TTP is a high tech production area with state of the art equipment and this is an opportunity to gain valuable hands on experience. During this time you will be exposed to a broad spectrum of areas including pneumatics, hydraulics, machine maintenance, advanced fault finding, PLC control interface, 2/3D design.Duties will include:Assisting the Mechanical Engineering dept. to provide support in advanced machine fault finding.Assisting in the design, modification and improvement of automated production/ high tech equipment. Creating/ updating maintenance procedures, to deliver quality, efficiency and reliability improvements.Assisting with the ordering of spare parts.Assisting with the planning/ modification of health and safety procedures.Liaising with outside contractors. Qualifications / Experience: You must be currently undertaking a mechanical engineering related degree and ideally have a knowledge of 2/3D CAD packages.You should have a hands on approach to engineering and a methodical approach to fault finding. You must be able to demonstrate that you are proactive, flexible and improvement focused and that you work well in a team environment. Good communication skills and interpersonal skills are a must.
