HR Advisor

HR Advisor  Role Purpose: To provide colleague relations support to our Shops and our Head Offices, ensuring that an excellent level of service is provided through the delivery of people processes and legislation compliance.                                                                  Working in the HR Support Team and dealing with high volume cases which range in complexity, this position requires someone with an excellent knowledge of colleague relations issues. Supporting Managers with the practical resolution of colleague relation cases including grievances, disciplinary, performance management, absence, capability, sickness, ensuring employment decisions are made in accordance with legal requirements and good employment practice. Coach, persuade and influence managers to pursue courses of action in relation to people issues which are in accordance with good employment practice, have regard to the needs of the organisation and the staff members concerned which minimise staff issues. Key Relationships: Regional Managers, Area Managers, Administrators, People Advisors, People Assistants, Head Office staff, Heads of Department, Directors. The key responsibilities: To provide excellent HR advice and guidance on company procedures to Regional Managers, Area managers, Administrators, HR Advisors, Head Office staff, Heads of Department, Directors.Ensuring that the Daily workload log is kept up-to-date.Producing the relevant disciplinary, grievance and appeal correspondence, including invites and outcome letters.Participation in disciplinary, grievance appeal meetings providing sound HR advice and having an input in decisions made.Participation in performance management, sickness management meetings providing sound HR advice and having input in decisions made.Influencing managers to “do the right thing “for their staff.Contribute to the development and implementation of people policies and procedures.Implementing value-adding people disciplines, templates and processes to support business needs.Answer the telephone in a timely fashion and deal with ad-hoc queries.Responding to high volume queries and case management be responsible for personal time management and allocation time correctly.Attention to detail in all areas minimal mistakes. Ensure letters produced are proof read by buddy.Advise on all people related matters including but not limited to disciplinary, grievance, appeal, performance management and sickness management.Managing flexible working requests.Data Analysis- reviewing sickness trends, labour turnover, org charts and another other requests.Payroll Administration as and when required.To maintain and promote relationships with the wider people support colleagues and teams.Stakeholder management.Focus on own personal development, including ensuring that capabilities are part of “everyday life”.Positive role model for peers does not engage in negative behaviour that has an impact on the department and others.Promote positive Employee Engagement  Skill Requirements: Ensure up to date knowledge of employment law and legislationYou will have a good understanding of HR processes and procedures.Good questioning and listening skills are vital for this role.Excellent communication skillsCustomer handling/people skillsYou will have excellent organisation and planning skills which will allow you to manage your own workload.You will be PC literate.You will have a high attention to detailStrong team player with the ability to work independently
