Job DescriptionPrime Supply Associates are currently seeking long term experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers for a well-established reputable Haulage Company. We have fixed rotas and are seeking drivers on a 5 on 3 off basis for the following shifts:DaysAfternoonsEveningsWe are also seeking drivers on a 4 on 4 off to cover Store Delivery, Tramping route.Role Overview:As an LGV Class 1 Driver you will be responsible for delivering goods safely to our customers distribution centres, stores and reloading or returning to base according to the plan whilst adhering to all legal and safety requirements.Role Requirements:Ø Ensuring the safety of the load and that you have the correct load and paperworkØ Observe and adhere to company rules and procedures, including all aspects of health, safety and hygieneØ Maintain a high standard of behaviour and appearanceØ Effectively manage own working time in line with Working Time DirectiveØ Adhere to tachograph rules and regulations at all timesØ Responsible for taking breaks according to legislation to avoid infringements – legal requirementØ Ensure daily vehicle checks are completed in line with company procedureØ Responsible for unit and trailer, including temperature checks (where required)Ø Ensure correct completion of a defect report as and when requiredØ Make deliveries to customers’ premises, acting in a professional manner at all times, and observing site rulesØ Immediately report any problems regarding delivery arrival times, delays or discrepancies with loadsØ Ensure proof of deliveries (PODs) are signed and returned to the Transport Office after deliveryØ Ensure regular communication with the Transport OfficeØ To act in a responsibly and safely responsibly on the road at all timesØ Driving in a fuel-efficient mannerKnowledge and Experience required:Ø Should have proven experience in driving articulated vehicles and have good geographic knowledge of UK roadsØ Hold an LGV C+E licence with an up to date CPC qualificationØ Possess a working knowledge of EU Drivers Hours Regulations and the Road Transport Directive regulations governing working timeØ Ability to work without direct supervisionØ Adaptable and methodical approach to work/ trainingJob Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary, PermanentSalary: £145.00-£160.00 per day
