A Local Authority based in South Yorkshire is looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to join their team.You can get further details about the nature of this opening, and what is expected from applicants, by reading the below.This is a full time, temporary position and the ideal candidate will hold a Level 7 qualification e.g.Post Graduate Certificates and Diplomas, or Level 6 qualification e.g.Bachelor Degrees, Graduate Certificates and Diplomas; plus post qualifying experience and have extensive experience in a similar role.The purpose of the role of Health and Safety Advisor is to provide specialist support and guidance to the council and external organisations as required to ensure compliance with legislation, guidance and best practice in relation to Health and Safety.The responsibilities of the role include: Provide professional and competent advice, guidance, information and instruction to stakeholders as required, ensuring appropriate policies, procedures, training and assessments are in place, in line with national legislation and guidance.Develop and implement systems and processes to ensure the reporting and investigation of accidents/incidents and the implementation of controls as and when appropriate.Ensure the council is aware of and carrying out its statutory responsibilities in relation to legislation, guidance and codes of practice through development and implementation of a council wide safety management system.Support the service in the coordination and delivery of Health and Safety training across the council.Experience & Qualifications: Level 7 qualification e.g.Post Graduate Certificates and Diplomas, or Level 6 qualification e.g.Bachelor Degrees, Graduate Certificates and Diplomas; plus post qualifying experience Or Evidence of the equivalent level of knowledge gained through work experience.Substantial experience and a thorough understanding of the core activities of a health and safety department, its aim and objectives and how they impinge upon client services.The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering between £16- £18 p/hour Umbrella Ltd (approx.£420- £470p/week NET after deductions) dependant on experience and qualifications.So if this position sounds of interest, email a copy of your up to date CV to (url removed) or call James at Service Care Construction on (phone number removed) Not interested in this role but know somebody who could be?
