Artemis Technologies is supported by a superb consortium of engineering and academic partners, with funding from UK Research & Innovation (UKRI), in pursuit of research and development excellence.The Role:Artemis Technologies is seeking a Head of Naval Architecture to support its mission to become the market leader in high-speed zero-emission vessels and propulsion systems: - to deliver the vision of decarbonising maritime transport.The Head of Naval Architecture will lead the team to deliver the design and engineering of the Artemis eFoilerTM propulsion system and its integration into the respective vessels. The Naval Architecture Team will support hull/foil shape design, manufacturing deliverables and production drawings, working in close partnership with the structural engineering team to maintain the highest possible standards throughout the design process.The key responsibilities will include leading the Naval Architecture department by defining the strategy and delivering on the goals for the projects and team. You will lead the design, engineering and integration process of the Artemis eFoilerTM system into Artemis Technologies vessels and support the departmental hiring process to help shape and grow the successful Naval Architecture team.The Head of Naval Architecture will work to the highest standards of compliance, operating in effective collaboration with the structural engineering team and the manufacturing team to deliver the Artemis eFoilerTM systems. You will lead the delivery of manufacturing requirements and collaborate with the mechanical team to ensure effective integration to the vessels.The Person:The Head of Naval Architecture will possess comprehensive experience within maritime projects for commercial and work vessels and be highly conversant with 3D and 2D modelling. You will possess expert knowledge in Naval Architecture including hydrostatics, stability and appendage design and be able to translate simulations into active design features for the project. Expert knowledge is required within maritime composite engineering aligned with demonstrable experience of operating within the relevant compliances.Within the Naval Architecture team, you will be a proven leader in the management of complex project design teams and able to demonstrate expert knowledge of maritime design and composite construction techniques.The Head of Naval Architecture will be highly familiar with innovation-driven environments, demonstrating solid commercial understanding and acutely aware of project delivery milestones and gateways. You will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, superb written communication and the ability to lead and engage talented and passionate team members to work in a cooperative and collaborative format to achieve success.Artemis Technologies operates in a truly collaborative and values-led format, offering exceptional development opportunities to all employees.
