Head of Group FP&A

What will my role look like? An exciting opportunity for a Head of Group Financial Planning and Analysis (“FP&A;”) has arisen. The Group Head of FP&A; will lead, develop and evolve the Group FP&A; function. Strategically, this will involve changing the way that FP&A; operates within the business from a cultural, structural and process perspective. This will be a significant finance transformation project and will be the cornerstone of the role. Reporting into the Director of Corporate Finance and IR, the Head of Group FP&A; will be support the growth of the Group by leading and developing the Group budget and long term forecast, appraising investments to ensure optimal capital deployment, benchmarking Group performance against internal and external metrics; producing analysis to support capital raising and appraising mergers, acquisitions and disposals What would my main responsibilities be? To lead the Group budget process and medium term forecast including a hands on role in setting and monitoring divisional budgets and forecasts and consolidation into the overall corporate budget Create, update, and maintain financial models, long term forecasts and scenario planning to support strategic decision making Develop and implement fit for purpose forecasting and reforecasting processes, systems and controls (with CIO and other appropriate personnel) Assist the treasury team with cash flow forecasting Capital and project investment analysis and reviews, business case development and monitoring, working collaboratively with the Head of M&A; and Divisional/Operational Heads Working with the treasury team to determine the Group’s capital allocation plan Together with the Head of Group Commercial Finance, develop weekly and monthly Business Performance Management insights and budget variance reporting, incorporating actuals from management reporting and insightful analysis of performance, risks and opportunities Development and preparation of Board reporting with analysis and commentary on both financial and non-financial measures Analysis of published competitor performance data Support the Group Executive team with special Projects and ad hoc analysis to support investments, M&A; and capital raising projects as assigned Develop and maintain strong and effective working relationships with the Group finance team, international FP&A; teams and divisional finance teams so as to support relevant information sharing and consistent good practice Management, development and mentoring of the Group FP&A; team Candidate Requirements: ACA qualified (or equivalent), several years post qualification industry experience Strong business acumen with broad experience across the finance function ideally covering reporting, financial planning and forecasting, project evaluation and treasury risk management Prior experience in FP&A; and in particular, ownership of the annual budget process and capital allocation & evaluation Experience in communicating and reporting at an Executive and Board level Ability to adapt to a dynamic, rapidly changing business environment Ability to multitask, keep teams on track and meet deadlines on a timely basis Creativity, flexibility and an entrepreneurial mindset to the solution of business issues Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, negotiation, research, presentation and organization skills Strong MS Office skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint and valuable to have skills in business modelling software Exceptional team development, leadership experience and skills, building a new and high performing finance function and mentoring and developing Financial analyst level talent What’s in it for me?
