Role: Head of GasRate: Negotiable - Inside IR35Location: Remote - WarwickWe are looking for an experienced individual to take on the role as Head of Gas. This is a broad role which offers a great opportunity to be integral to a really exciting programme of work. This position in turn will help to progress your career giving you the opportunity to become part of a dynamic yet relaxed and friendly team where your input is valued and encouraged.Within this position there is the opportunity to work on multiple different teams all catering to slightly different skill sets.About the role; Reporting to the Gas CIO, the Head of Gas CNI will have responsibility to run and maintain all day to day activities in Gas CNI. As all critical systems are high availability systems, 24x7 365 on call as a senior point of escalation is required for this position. Consequence of system failures is the shutdown of the Gas networks in the UK, causing high financial and reputational damage to the National Grid, including its license to operate. The Gas IT business is moving to a SAFe Agile and DevOps delivery model.Key Accountabilities (not limited too):Be accountable for delivery of all CNI Application services for Gas maintaining the operational availability, security, performance to the defined service levels, overseeing changes and driving service improvement by analysing KPI performance / adherenceActively collaborate with other CNI department heads (Data Centres, Networks and Infrastructure) to ensure the operational availability and performance of services across CNI To work with the wider IT organisation to ensure the operational integrity and security of new or transformed CNI services coming into productionThe candidate will bring experience of strong operational management, leading high performing IT technical teams and 3rd party contracts working in a Mission Critical environment across Geographical locationsYou will need to show evidence of maintaining and developing key stakeholder relationships both within an IT Organisation and the wider BusinessKey Experience (not limited too); *Knowledge and experience of Operational Technology, including SCADA is a must.*Ability to grasp, analyse and convey complex Application & Technology issues and incidents*Maintain application monitoring, performance tuning and testing*Knowledge and operational experience of Cyber Security defenses in IT and Mission Critical systems*Experience of working with Control Rooms and Utility Business communities, setting direction and decision making (up to and including Band B level Management).
