(Full job spec available for the right candidate on request) A privately owned growing house builder seeks to appoint an experienced Engineering / Technical Manager. The company specialise in building high specifications homes built to exceptional standard. Reporting to the Construction Director, you will be responsible for undertaking technical and engineering design works on all sites, providing detailed construction information, schedules, and specification to meet required timescales. Provide value engineering to highlight and assist with designing out any potential issues before they can become problems including site levels, slab levels in view to achieving level access, reduce retaining walls etcProvide early site evaluation, architectural and engineering design and investigations of any technical problems encountered and provide economical and viable solutionsManage spoil movements on site and produce cut & fill schedules prior to development commencement and maintain accurate records as the site progressesRemedial management and supervision of roads and sewers together with final surfacing works, ensuring the works are carried out to the required budget, timescales and qualityRegular site visits to give technical/engineering support to the site teams and inspect works in progress to ensure works on site are being built in accordance with the drawingsThe adoption of roads, sewers, public open spaces and pumping stations covered by the relevant sectionsPursue the reduction and release of outstanding Bonds at the earliest opportunity and report on updates.Liaison with local authority, water companies and environment agency personnel in respect of site visit inspections.Liaise with the design/technical team to discuss timescale requirements and obtain fee quotations from specialist consultants for all geo-technical, engineering design and technical reports.Working with the design/technical department to provide buildability advice at planning stage.Responsible for programming and resourcing projects effectively and working to prescribed deadlinesProviding construction details, schedules, and specificationsChecking of subcontractor designs, levels, drainage, services and other information and liaising with relevant partiesInput into building fabric specification selecting the best materials and processes for the project with QS and the design teamEnsure compliance with CDM regulations and the company's internal SHE procedures Experience & Skills Ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiativeEffective negotiation, motivation, and communication skills to influence othersAbility to complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner when working under pressureEffective liaison with staff to give information/find information/resolve potential issuesAppointment of consultants in consultation with line manager and the design teamAgreement of fees in line with the set budgetsAgreement of details with statutory authorities Please note - in order to progress any applications further, Bromak will need to add your details to our computerised database.
