Engineering Technician

Job Overview Due to continued company expansion we have a vacancy for an Engineering Technician to join our team. The scope of works is varied but mainly concentrates on the assembly, installation, repair and maintenance of lifting equipment and special purpose machinery. Reporting to the General Manager / Managing Director the main duties and responsibilities include the following:Responsibilities and Duties Mechanical assembly of lifting equipment and bespoke machineryAssembly of pneumatic / Electrical / hydraulic systemsCommissioning activities across UK customer sitesServicing and inspection of lifting equipment on site to the required standard.Attend customer breakdowns, fault find and repairs on mechanical / pneumatic / hydraulic systemsInstallation of bespoke lifting solutions including manipulators and balancers.Installation of cranes, gantries, hoists and various lifting equipment on site throughout the UK.Emergency and planned remedial repairs of lifting equipment on site as required.Servicing & repair of cranes and hoists both manual and electrical.Completing daily job sheets and checklists to the required standard.Carrying out works using your own initiative to ensure works are carried out safely, efficiently and professionally.Essential RequirementsQualified in relevant engineering discipline or apprentice trainedYou must be fully conversant with electrical and pneumatic control circuitsFault finding experience, ideally on electrical cranes/hoistsMust be able to read and understand wiring diagrams and pneumatic / hydraulic drawingsMust be familiar with mechanical fitting / assembly practices and be able to read engineering drawingsFull UK driving license A good understanding of the English language, both verbal and writtenA willingness to work away and work extra hours including occasional weekendsDesirable17th or 18th edition wiring regulations certificateLEEA foundation qualification, RSC & OTCWorking at height experienceExperience with PCL programmingUnderstanding of LOLER and PUWER regulations.You will also be required to adhere to the companies Health and Safety policy and quality management system.
